BDC School Cologno After-School Activities: Learning and Growing Beyond the Classroom.

Starting in September, BDC School Cologno will offer a comprehensive programme of after-school activities for children and young people, designed to turn the time after school into an opportunity for learning, self-expression and socialisation.

The programme includes creative, language, music, technology and sports activities, as well as study support for primary and middle school students.

Courses will take place at the BDC School campus, located at 16 Via Alessandro Volta in Cologno Monzese, and are also open to students who do not attend BDC School.

Activities Tailored to Every Stage of Development.

The programme is organised according to the participants’ age and educational needs.

For younger children, the activities focus on play, movement, creativity and exploration.

For primary and middle school students, the courses provide opportunities to develop more structured skills, strengthen their study methods and explore their personal interests in greater depth.

Study Support for Primary and Middle School Students.

The Study Support service provides assistance with homework and the organisation of schoolwork.

The programme can help students develop:

• better organisation and time-management skills;

• an effective study method;

• greater independence;

• consistency in their schoolwork;

• increased awareness of their abilities;

• a more positive and relaxed approach to homework.

Cambridge English: A Progressive Learning Pathway.

Cambridge English courses are designed to strengthen language skills and support students as they prepare for exams, with a particular focus on listening, comprehension and communication.

The programme includes:

• English Kinder for children aged 3 to 5;

• English Starters for children aged 6 to 8;

• English Movers for children aged 8 to 10;

• English Flyers, offered at different levels, for students aged 10 to 13.

  
  

A preliminary meeting with the teacher will be arranged to identify the most suitable level.

This progressive approach allows each student to follow a learning pathway aligned with their abilities, while developing greater confidence in using English.

Educational Robotics and New Technologies.

The Robotics: Great Inventors course introduces students to the world of technology through building and programming robots.

Hands-on activities encourage:

Children do not simply use technology: they learn how it works and turn their ideas into small projects.

Art Studio, Clay and Hands-On Activities.

The Art Studio is a creative space where children can express themselves through artistic and hands-on activities. Drawing, designing and experimenting with different materials help develop imagination, concentration and self-expression.

The Freehand Clay workshop allows children to shape and transform materials through a complete sensory experience. Working with clay supports the development of fine motor skills, concentration and creativity.

The Crochet and Crafts course guides participants in creating small projects while developing precision, patience and the ability to complete a task.

Music, Orchestra and Choir.

Orchestriamo introduces children to the language of music through singing, rhythm and musical instruments. The course helps develop musical awareness, coordination and listening skills.

The Choir offers the opportunity to experience music as a shared activity. Singing together helps develop pitch, a sense of rhythm, active listening and collaboration.

Theatre: Communicating and Expressing Emotions.

The Theatre workshop supports the development of communication skills, creativity and self-confidence.

Through drama-based activities, children learn to use their voice and body, express emotions, interpret different situations and interact with others. The workshop also helps develop empathy, memory and confidence in self-expression.

Modern Dance and Hip-Hop.

Modern Dance combines movement, music and self-expression, helping participants improve their coordination, rhythm and body awareness.

The Hip-Hop course offers an energetic and engaging experience that develops rhythm, coordination and personal expression, while also encouraging participation and team spirit.

Chess: Learning to Think Strategically.

Chess stimulates logical thinking, concentration, planning and problem-solving skills.

Through play, children and young people learn to evaluate the consequences of their decisions, respect the rules and approach challenges thoughtfully while having fun.

Judo: Discipline, Movement and Respect.

The GiocaJudo and Advanced Judo programmes introduce participants to this discipline through activities tailored to their age and level of experience.

Judo promotes coordination, self-control, perseverance and respect for others, contributing to both physical and personal development.

Individual Piano Lessons Available on Request.

Individual piano lessons are also available upon request and are tailored to each child’s age, abilities and learning pace.

This personalised programme supports musical development, concentration, artistic sensitivity and self-expression.

A Programme Open to Non-BDC Students as Well.

BDC School Cologno’s after-school activities are open to both BDC students and children and young people from other schools.

Families can choose the most suitable activity based on their child’s age, interests and needs, within an educational environment focused on each student’s personal growth.
